The Twelve are recognized by most as the gods of the world, and their arrival was responsible for ending the Age of Chaos, letting civilization finally recover. The gods are worshipped by the joint religion of the Twelve, with a denomination devoted to each creating twelve interdependent churches.
Rare rumors speak of other, unrecognized deities but the religions of the Twelve teach against heeding life to such blasphemy.
