The Beginning - Sillidious Joins the Party
March 13, 2026
It is now the Bloom Crescent, 1372
After a tumultuous quest in search of Gundren Rockseeker and his magical cave, the party return to Neverwinter to reap their reward. Rockseeker, true to his word, hands the party a bank check to redeem money from the Dwarf Banking House.
Bursting with joy of finally being done with Rockseeker’s shenanigans and demands, the party decides to stick together and see where life takes them.
And what do you know, life immediately gives them a new adventure. They stumble upon a clearing just outside Neverwinter, where a scoobious paladin is fighting for his life against a ball of purple goo and corpses. Not the prettiest of sights…they immediately join in the fight, as it has been a while since the last combat action they’ve had. In the clearing there is also a carriage with assumedly innocent people caught in the crossfire.
The party uses their great skills to put an end to the purple goo. Now it is time for investigation
- The purple goo is some sort of fungus
- The bodies found inside are wearing monk clothes, reminiscent of Lachlan ’s attire
- Talon take a sample of the goo, for safekeeping
But most importantly, who is this suspicious paladin and what does he want? In true Kaimi fashion, she starts asking the real questions.
- Who is he? He goes by the name Sillidious , specter and slave to Izana, the goddess of death
- What is he doing aound these parts? He reveals that he is cursed to walk around, since Izana has a death grip on him (and his family jewels) after being given a mysterious task
- After such a fight, he is quite eepy and must facetime with Izana in the Ethereal Plane, so the questioning ends
He seems like a good companion… probably.
Turning their attention back to the carriage, the occupants appear to be a young lady and her elderly dad, that were carrying a wagon of goods towards Neverwinter (the author didn’t note down these details, so this is pure memory based)
After so many months of adventuring in the cold and fighting many monsters, Thalia misses the touch of a woman, so she tries her luck with the young lady. Unfortunately after a really clumsy pickup line, the seduction attempt miserably fails… alas, she will have to work on that.
This might be purely made-up but this author remembers someone from the party trying to pick up the lady’s father, which turned into a similar failure. But despite of that, the party travels with these poor people back to Neverwinter where they can discuss the next steps.
Neverwinter is a nice little city on the coast that deserves its name. Due to the warm mistwater from the nearby volcano, Mount Hotenaw, the city is free from frost and freezing. The city is divided horizontally by a river. In the north, there is a warehouse by the harbour, protected by a fort. The southern part of the city is covered by taverns, inns, bathhouses and gardens that bloom year round. This quarter is almost entirely dedicated to the nobles. The North-East is newly rebuilt after it’s been destroyed by the nearby volcano around 30 years ago. It consists of shanty towns and refineries for orcs. Here they produce fine devices in the city.
The party decides to spread out for now. Sillidious visits the blacksmith and causes quite a commotion. Kaimi passes by the local library to drop off her manuscript of the party’s earlier adventure. The party then reunites at the Bubbles and Bath Tavern.
Here Kaimi make their new companion Sillidious reveal his face that has been cloacked in shadow so far. The sight is quite confusing and it is probably better left hidden. After a nice evening at the tavern, the party splits up again to go enjoy some peaceful (or not) slumber. Kaimi and Thalia go to Thalia ’s little cottage in the forest just south of the city. Sillidious opts for medidation on a nearby bridge and Talon also finds a suitable outdoors spot for camping. Lachlan , also feeling deprived of a man’s touch, shares a room with a local bard in the Bubbles and Bath Tavern. They have a wonderful one night stand. However, the peace does not dwell for long.
In the middle of the night, Lachlan starts to feel an uncomfortable warmth. There is a fire! And a mysterious person looking for Lachlan specifically. Uh-Oh!
