The Blur

This chapter may be one of the most unreliable from this entire collection, as the author purused some other endeavors while the adventure unfolded.

With that disclaimer in mind, the party departed the monastery with new information and willing to venture deeper into the blight territory. And so they keep going until the area becomes devoid of life and light, entering the Shadowfell.

On their way they find a cabin in the woods and it looks like there has been a struggle. Big claw marks could be seen on the door and walls, a creature that the party ascertained is definitely not a dragon. Inside, a man is tied up, but there’s something off about him. He has an dead-like appearance and is talking various kinds of nonsense about demons and stuff. To be perfectly honest, this author is not sure of what he actually said, only that the party could not make much sense of his ramblings. He talked of seeing Iarno and had a diary with more information that Kaimi takes with her.

Leaving the cabin, the group goes on until they reach a cave. They stumble upon two dead bodies. One might have been the messenger of house Kastuen they tracked from the inn, wearing his signet ring. The party takes the ring and the man’s clothes in case they might come in handy later.

There are also marks on the ground at the entrance. Three pairs of footsteps going in, out of which one person seemed to be dragged there. But curiously nothing coming out of the cave. The party enters the cave driven by curiosity. There seems to be some kind of monster inside, so they decide to retreat. This is really suspicious but the creature inside does not seem like it wants to be disturbed. And the group still has a ball to get to down south. It is about time they start to hurry.
